Last week I came home and half the lights in my place were flickering like some kind of haunted house. I thought it was just a blown breaker, but then the stove clock kept resetting and one of the outlets made this tiny popping sound. It freaked me out enough to shut everything off and sit in the dark with a flashlight.

It’s funny how problems like this make you suddenly think about all the random little risks in a house you normally don’t notice. Like you live day to day assuming things just work, then one weird noise or smell and you’re imagining every possible disaster. The feeling sticks even after it’s fixed.
What made it worse was that every company I called gave me totally different answers and prices, which made it hard to know who was being straight with me. After a lot of wasted time, I finally turned to local resources and found a directory that listed licensed Gas Fitters in Langley, BC. That was a game changer because it gave me actual options in my area, and the people I called from that list knew the local codes and handled everything properly. The one I chose walked me through what needed to be fixed, showed me the worn parts, and even explained how to keep the furnace running smoother in the future.
